Put Your Best Foot Forward with Amanda Alexander

Foot care is an essential aspect of overall health and wellness, and Amanda Alexander, a Foot Care Nurse, is dedicated to providing top-quality care to her clients. With over 23 years of experience in the nursing field, Amanda has the knowledge and expertise to identify and treat a wide range of foot issues, including corns, callouses, ingrown and involuted toenails, warts, and fungus.
Amanda's passion for foot care began during the first Covid lockdown when she was working as a wound care nurse in Northumberland. She noticed a significant increase in new clients with foot ulcers, particularly among diabetic clients, and realized that many of these wounds could have been avoided with appropriate foot care. This experience led her to specialize in foot care and help fill the shortage of foot care nurses.
Amanda's services go beyond a spa pedicure, as she is trained to identify and treat structural issues that can cause pain and discomfort. If necessary, she will refer clients to our Pedorthist, Beth, to ensure that our clients' feet are happy, healthy, and pain-free. The tools used by Amanda are sterilized using a multi-step process, including an ultrasonic cleaner and an autoclave, to ensure the safest and most hygienic treatments possible.
When not working, Amanda enjoys spending time with her horse, Chilli, and her Alaskan Malamute, Ursa. She also has a passion for art and music and has marched in the Haliburton Highlanders Pipes and Drums as well as the Hastings and Prince Edward Regimental Pipeband.
At Body & Sole, we are thrilled to have Amanda on our team and are confident that her expertise and dedication to her clients will provide the best foot care possible. Amanda is available every Wednesday, and we encourage you to book an appointment with her to experience the benefits of Nursing Foot Care for yourself.
